Academics学术

The classes are rigorous and the faculty here at my institution knows how to continuously challenge students to think critically and adopt our university's mission into the classroom.Sometimes,the content and workload can be very challenging--we are a medium Jesuit institution in the Midwest and I believe SLU does not get enough credit for how challenging the academics are.Some majors might be more difficult over others,but overall each concentration is challenging in its own way.Class scheduling is decent and there are many places to study.Our institution is a very involved campus,the students love being involved with multiple organizations and events that sometimes it can be difficult to balance everything while the demands of academic workload is a lot along with majority of the student body doing service every week.

这里的课程很严谨，我的学院的教师们也知道如何不断挑战学生，培养批判性思考，并将整个学校的目标带入课堂。有时，课上的内容和工作量可能非常具有挑战性，虽然因为这里是中西部地区的一个中等大小的天主教学校，可能会被外界忽视这里学术的挑战度。有些专业可能比其他专业更困难，但总的来说，每个专业都以自己的方式具有挑战性。课程安排也不错，也有很多可以自习的地方。这里拥有一个非常重视参与的校园，学生喜欢参与多个组织和活动，有时很难平衡一切，尤其是当学术工作量的需求与大部分学生团体的需求一样的时候。

Saint Louis is a hidden gem within the United States.I come from Los Angeles,CA where anyone can agree the nightlife and things to do are plentiful.Thus,coming to this city in the Midwest freshman year,my perceptions were there was probably nothing to do out here;however,my ignorance was proven wrong.I quickly became adjusted to Saint Louis life and this historical city impressed me.Students in Saint Louis can take advantage of many free city functions(ex.Saint Louis Zoo is for free and ranked one of the best zoos in the US,many weekends there are cultural festivals that take place in Forest Park,which is larger than New York's Central Park).There is the science center,city museum(a massive playground for children AND adults),Busch Stadium(Cardinals),Rams,Central West End and the Loop(multiple shopping boutiques and restaurants),Soulard area(tons of bars),Ball Park Village(brand new area with bars right next to the Busch Stadium),and much more.Saint Louis is on the rise and I am excited to see how much this city will grow in the next decade or so.

圣路易斯可谓是美国境内隐藏的宝石。我是从加利福尼亚州的洛杉矶来的，在那里任何人都喜欢夜生活，而且要做的事情非常丰富。因此，刚来到这个中西部的城市的时候，我感觉这里没有什么可做的事情。然而，之后我就事实打脸了。我很快适应了这里的生活，这个城市的历史也给我留下了深刻的印象。圣路易斯的学生可以利用许多免费的城市功能（例如圣路易斯动物园是免费的，并且是美国最好的动物园之一，另外许多周末在Forest Park都有举行文化节日，是比纽约中央公园还大的公园哦）。这里也有科技馆，城市博物馆（儿童和成人都能享受的游乐场），Busch体育场（Cardinals的主场），Rams，Central West End和the Loop（多个购物中心和各种餐馆的集合地），Soulard区域（超多酒吧），Ball Park Village（Busch体育场旁边的全新区域，有不少酒吧）等等。圣路易斯正在崛起，我很期待看到这个城市在未来十年左右会有多大的发展。

The school is very close to busch stadium and which is next to the big city of Saint Louis.Also there is the zoo,botanical garden,and the science museum.Just a lot of attractions that people can go to.

学校非常靠近Busch体育场，毗邻圣路易斯的城市中心。附近还有动物园，植物园和科学博物馆等很多可以去的景点。

Saint Louis has a lot of nice attractions and things for students to do on the weekends.It's always nice to go to forest park and get away from the campus.

圣路易斯有很多很好的景点，也有很多适合学生周末的活动的。去forest park逃离校园的压力总是很好的。
